Firearms Licensing Fees

The Home Office are currently reviewing the fees for firearms licensing matters.  The fees were last increased seven years ago.  It is the stated position of the Home Office to move towards full cost recovery.  Work is ongoing to establish what these costs are and the Home Office have engaged with the police and the shooting organisations in this regard.

The position of the shooting organisations is that any increase in fees should be realistic and matched by an increase in the standards of service that certificate holders receive from the police.  SACS are fully engaged in the process and attend the meetings on behalf of a number of fellow shooting organisations.  We all have the same goal – value for money and an improvement in service provision.  We will keep you updated when we can.
