Following Lord Bonomy’s review of the Protection of Wild Mammals (Scotland) Act 2002, the Scottish Government has announced the appointment of retired Deputy Chief Constable Ruaraidh Nicolson as Chair of the Code of Practice Working Group.

The inaugural group meeting will take place in early July, with SACS attending. A consultation on the other recommendations of Lord Bonomy’s report is due to follow. SACS has played a lead role in this matter and will continue to represent members’ interests, fighting against unworkable and unnecessarily restrictive amendments to the Act.
