Home Office Statistics - Part 2

On 27 June 2024, the Home Office published the Statistics on firearm and shotgun certificates England and Wales: April 2023 to March 2024

Two statistics are sobering.

  • Of the 510 717 people who have access to firearms in England and Wales, 351 425 or 68.8% are aged 50 or over.

  • Only 159 292 are aged under 50.

Look about you when you're beating, picking up, or at the range.  How old are the people shooting?  How old are the people helping?  How old are the guns on the beater’s days?

Think about what that means and what we all could do to stop shooting coming to a conclusion in the coming generations.
