UK Parliament Call for Evidence – firearms licensing Scotland.

The Scottish Parliament, Scottish Affairs Committee has published a request for evidence in respect of firearms licensing.  The following link refers.

The terms of reference are noted as;

The Committee calls for evidence to be submitted on the following issues:

How adequate are firearms licensing regulations in the UK, and in Scotland in particular?

To what extent are firearms licensing regulations adequate and relevant to Scotland’s particular circumstances, including its agricultural communities and its strong connections with countryside sports?

Should the process for obtaining a licence for firearms be changed (for example, to place greater emphasis on applicants’ mental health)?

The Committee values diversity and encourages members of underrepresented groups to provide submissions.

Evidence is to be submitted by Thursday, 13 October 2022.

The terms of reference are in essence the questions which require to be answered.  SACS will be submitting a response, however the Committee are keen to receive individual responses to.
